Hey everyone! My name is Isabella Malendres and I am a full-time missionary with YWAM (Youth with a Mission) in Kona, Hawai’i.

I serve in a ministry called Respect The Corners (RTC) which is a ministry founded on 4 core values, or “corners”: Faith, Family, Integrity, and Extravagant Love. We use fitness training to bring the Gospel to the nations. The heart of RTC is to reach the unreached and minister to local communities through fitness — this looks like coaching fitness classes locally and internationally, and trekking to the hardest places to reach in the world.

In 2022 God showed me the love that He has for the nations, it was something I’d never experienced before. I had no desire to leave my home, but after seeing the way God pursues the unreached, it changed me. He set me on fire for missions. God showed me the injustice that it is that so many people around the world will never have the opportunity to hear the gospel or read the Bible in their mother tongue, simply because people aren’t going. So from that point on I have decided to go, whether that’s the islands or the mountains, the people closest to me or to a people group I’ve never even heard of. This is why I train. To increase my fitness, because I want to be equipped to physically go wherever He calls me.

With that said, I believe there are two important positions to play in missions: the ones who are sent and the ones who send. That means that people like me need people like you to support us through prayer and finances in order to do what God has asked.
